Products are given a Million Marker Purity Rating, which indicates the extent to which the product is free of BPA, phthalates, parabens, and other endocrine-disrupting chemicals and contaminants.
Learn more >Each product's ingredients list is reviewed for ingredient safety. The product earns an ingredients audit score based on the number of irritants, environmental hazards, EDCs, and other toxins that are listed, as well as the risk level of each of the ingredients.
For products that have not been chemically tested, the Purity Rating is based solely on the ingredients audit.
Products are tested in a lab to detect harmful chemical compounds. The chemical testing score is given based on the concentration and risk level of compounds detected through this testing process.
